Matrix Approach to Land Carbon Cycle Modeling

چکیده
Land ecosystems contribute to climate change mitigation by taking up approximately 30% of anthropogenically emitted carbon. However, estimates the amount and distribution carbon uptake across world's or biomes display great uncertainty. The latter hinders a full understanding mechanisms drivers land uptake, predictions future fate sink. is needed as evidence inform strategies such afforestation schemes. To advance cycle modeling, we have developed matrix approach. models use balance equations represent exchanges among pools. Our approach organizes this set into single equation without altering any processes original model. enables development theoretical framework for general, transient behavior cycle. While input residence time are used quantify storage capacity at steady state, third quantity, potential, integrates fluxes with define dynamic disequilibrium under global change. can help address critical contemporary issues in including pinpointing sources model uncertainty accelerating spin-up tens times. accelerated liberates from computational burden that comprehensive parameter sensitivity analysis assimilation observational data improve accuracy. Such efficiency offered substantial improvement using ever-increasing availability. Overall, offers step forward modeling

Modeling Anthropogenic Impacts on the Carbon Cycle and Climate: From Land Use to Mitigation Scenarios
The impact of land use on the global carbon cycle and climate is assessed. The Bern carbon cycle-climate model was used with land use maps from HYDE3.0 for 1700 to 2000 A.D. and from post-SRES scenarios for this century. Cropland and pasture expansion each cause about half of the simulated net carbon emissions of 188 Gt C over the industrial period and 1.1 Gt C yr−1 in the 1990s, implying a res...
متن کاملLand-use and carbon cycle responses to moderate climate change: implications for land-based mitigation?
Climate change has impacts on agricultural yields, which could alter cropland requirements and hence deforestation rates. Thus, land-use responses to climate change might influence terrestrial carbon stocks. Moreover, climate change could alter the carbon storage capacity of the terrestrial biosphere and hence the land-based mitigation potential. We use a global spatially explicit economic land...
متن کاملModeling on Regional Atmosphere-Soil-Land Plant Carbon Cycle Dynamic System
This paper establishes a nonlinear carbon cycle model based on the analysis of the carbon flux relationship among the atmosphere cycle, soil cycle and land cycle. By using nonlinear dynamics method, we examine the regional carbon cycle evolution along with the temporal evolution of the regional carbon flux. A neural network has been employed to identify the parameters of the proposed model, acc...
متن کاملModeling the carbon cycle in Lake Matano.
Lake Matano, Indonesia, is a stratified anoxic lake with iron-rich waters that has been used as an analogue for the Archean and early Proterozoic oceans. Past studies of Lake Matano report large amounts of methane production, with as much as 80% of primary production degraded via methanogenesis. Low δ(13)C values of DIC in the lake are difficult to reconcile with this notion, as fractionation d...
متن کاملnon-corrective approach to pronunciation
the aim of this study has been to find answers for the following questions: 1. what is the effect of immediate correction on students pronunciation errors? 2. what would be the effect of teaching the more rgular patterns of english pronunciation? 3. is there any significant difference between the two methods of dealing with pronuciation errore, i. e., correction and the teaching of the regular ...
